Golden Retrievers and Service Work…

Last year I had the honor of meeting a great group of people who had a dream of training specialized service dogs. Hero Dogs, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation whose purpose is to train and place service dogs with military veterans who have been injured and/or disabled while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Yesterday, was a day of celebration. They found the perfect new facility, and had an open house. It was wonderful seeing my two grandpups: Theodore Rosevelt, and Maverick.
We had planned on only taking Penny to visit with her son Maverick. However, Andy had other plans. She climbed in the car and refused to leave. So, we had three generations in attendance at the Open House. Andy is Great Grandmother to both boys, and Penny is Maverick’s Mother.
